Need an Extension? Now Is the Time
Tomorrow is the tax return deadline in the USā It's time to get your ducks in a row.
If you are struggling to get your crypto affairs in order, you should apply for an extension.
While you do still have to make some sort of payment, an extension gives you more time to pay the balance. You will then have until October 15 to get your tax return sorted.
With the IRS steadily increasing its surveillance š over crypto activity and adding new questions and classifications to gather more information about filersā exact crypto histories, getting an extension is probably a good idea.
Shehan Chandrasekera, head of tax strategy at CoinTracker, suggests:
āIf youāre still struggling to reconcile your crypto activity and filing taxes, at this point, I would encourage you to file for an extension because time is running out.ā If you have everything done already, kick back, open a beer and relax...until next year!

How Did They Take So Long?
Basketball legend and loveable giant Shaquille O'Neal has been served in a class-action lawsuit against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried.
However, it took lawyers thre months to find him.
How? Heās not exactly easily missed! š±
The suit is in response to claims that Shaq was promoting FTX. According to the Moskowitz law firm, Shaq had been:
āHiding and driving away from our process servers for the past three months.ā Whatever your opinion of the now sports presenter, this is quite amusing.
Imagine being the guy trying to serve him and reporting back to your boss every day for three months that you canāt find a guy who is 2.16m (7ā1ā).
That must be embarrassing, right? šShaq hasnāt yet responded, so letās see how this one unfolds.
US Release Draft Stablecoin Billā¦ Is It Bad News?
The U.S. House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing on April 19 to discuss a draft bill released over the weekend on regulating stablecoins. š¼
No, it doesn't say that. Don't worry! But what does the draft bill say? Here are the main points:
Stablecoin issuers should maintain reserves backing their stablecoins on a minimum of a least one-to-one basis.
The Federal Reserve Board will be in charge of non-bank stablecoin issuers.
Anyone who issues stablecoins without approval from the regulators would be subject to up to five years in prison and a fine of up to US$1 million.
The Federal Reserve Board will study the impact of a U.S. central bank digital currency, or a digital dollar, on its potential impact on the Fedās monetary policy tools, the countryās financial system, and cross-border payment ecosystems.
It seems unthreatening. š§ø
All points seem understandable, especially considering that institutional mass adoption will only follow proper regulation.
