SHIB/FT: Cloudy Conspiracy or Common Coincidence?

In these times of scandal and subterfuge, we must ask ourselves what’s real and what is just coincidence.When stories like these “break,” that’s exactly what we should do!Coinbase Director Connor Grogan uncovers a possible link between the anonymous individual (or group) who created Shiba Inu called “Ryoshi” and FTX sister company Almeda Research.

It seems a little tenuous to me, but let’s have a deeper look.Grogan found a Bitkub deposit address that was linked to an account on the NFT marketplace OpenSea called “ALAMEDA.” That address, he claims, was used by Ryoshi to make two deposits in 2020 and 2021.The same account has also minted NFTs referencing “SBF Legendary,” referring to a curly-haired fraudster, Sam Bankman-Fried.Gorgan also noted that the largest SHIB farmer unstaked $107 million worth of SHIB and sent them to exchanges the same day FTX expanded its perpetual futures contracts.Usually, I’d just put this down to one exchange director putting the boot into another in a “kick ‘em while they’re down” situation.Still, whenever I see SBF is allegedly involved, I wonder…the dude is shadier than Gollum!

Fallon; Bored of “Unwarranted Fishing Expeditions” 

Losing your court case? Throw mud till you obscure the view, and if you can chuck a famous name or two in there…all the better. 

Lawyers for the Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon have filed a motion to quash a subpoena from “conceptual artist” Ryder Ripps on Monday, calling the move an “unwarranted fishing expedition for irrelevant material.” 

What’s the background?Ripps and his business partner Jeremy Cahen were sued in June 2022 by Yuga Labs, after the pair created a knockoff NFT collection that “satirized” (their words) Yuga’s Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.The judge called BS, stating the work was “no more artistic than the sale of a counterfeit handbag.”

Ok, but where does the excitable Fallon come into this case?

Nowhere! 

Though Fallon is a co-defendant in a class-action suit filed against Yuga Labs and a host of celebrity promoters, claiming that the Bored Apes were “misleadingly promoted.”

This seems to be the extent of Fallon’s involvement and Ripps et al, are just flinging s**t in every direction in an effort to hide their loss in the fallout.

Silver Strikes Gold at the Louvre

This is a story of mass adoption. In this case of AI art and NFTs, and I like it!

I am definitely not an artist (seriously, I have trouble with stick men), but I’m pretty convinced that any artist would literally chew off their limbs to be able to show their work in the Louvre, ya know, that Parisian museum, made famous by the giant glass pyramid and a little painting known as the Mona Lisa.

The artist in question, Claire Silver, uses artificial intelligence to create her (NFT) projects and is set to debut her new collection at the museum later this month.The collection, titled "can I tell you a secret," is an "autobiographical series of 100 post-photography pieces created with AI."In addition to her new collection debut, a one-of-one NFT artwork titled “Love in the 4th Turning” will also exhibit at the Louvre. 

This is evidence of what I’m always going on about; mass adoption of Web3 tech by legacy institutions.The Louvre, exhibiting NFT AI art…that’s pretty cool.
