Amazon NFT Rumors

Rumors started to surface a few months ago that Amazon was exploring NFT integration. Just what the integration would look like has been highly debated.I wonder if this is just another marketing stunt by a big brand or something more tangible.Amazon is a huge beast; what would be the point of anything other than something big? Last week the rumor mill started kicking into high gear with unnamed sources reporting that Amazon’s NFT Marketplace could be launched as soon as April.Hmm..."Unnamed sources"...I better switch on the BS detector!

There has also been talk of Bezos and his minions integrating NFTs into customer deliveries. This is the kind of disruptive real-world utility Jeff is the master of introducing.Will we finally get to see the first of the Web2 giants really make waves on Web3, or is this all marketing smoke and mirrors?Come on, Jeff...don't let us down. 🤞

Coinbase Refuses Refunds

In May 2022, New Yorker Jared Ferguson lost $96,000 when his Coinbase account was hacked. Ferguson claims that under state and federal laws, Coinbase should be responsible for unauthorized withdrawals. Coinbase disagreed and responded in an email stating:“Please note you are solely responsible for the security of your e-mail, your passwords, your 2FA codes, and your devices.”

Coinbase has been criticized before for having terrible customer support, but where does one draw the line? It seems that in this case, Coinbase can legally say they are not at fault, but where’s the compassion? Yeah, business is business but come on guys…show a little love! 💕

Ramsay’s Kitchen Goes Meta

Metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox announced that Ramsay is being turned into a collection of 2,333 NFT avatars later this month.

Users will be able to use their Gordon avatars to wander around and play games in the metaverse.Love him or hate him, I bet the avatars will sell like hotcakes; I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend time as the wrinkle-faced, F-bomb-dropping super chef? 🤬The Sandbox has previous success when it comes to celebrity avatars, having previously collaborated with Snoop Dogg on the rap star's NFT avatar collection..which subsequently generated nearly $12 million in trading volume.
