The End is Nearish.Attention! “We have a BIG Announcement”- DOJYesterday, the DOJ announced they had “major international cryptocurrency enforcement action” news to share a couple of hours before noon (EST). The major announcement?Bitzlato was charged with laundering illicit funds to the tune of $700 million and received $15 million in ransomware proceeds.Heard of this crypto exchange? No? Neither have most people.The illicit funds were allegedly used for darknet market purchases on Hydra. Serious? Yes, but let’s be real this isn’t “major crypto news.”The lawsuit means Bitzlato can no longer provide services to criminals with ties to Russia. (Which, of course, is a good thing!)Bitzlato's co-founder Anatoly Legkodymov was arrested in Miami. The perpetrators accessed 133 Mailchimp accounts, including one owned by Yuga Labs.

While there has been no phishing attack detected

, Yuga Labs has

users to be on high alert for potential phishing attacks via email.

Fortunately, Yuga Labs has stated that “We have only used that service a few times, and for limited purposes.”

Ripple vs. SEC. The end is nearish.

Twenty. Five. Months.25!That's how long the Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit has lasted. But a verdict may FINALLY be on the horizon! Ripple's chief Brad Garlinghouse has stated that he is optimistic closure will be reached soon. In an interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Garlinghouse stated that the judge would make a ruling "in the coming single-digit months." (1? 5? 9? Who’s to say?)On a more positive note, Garlinghouse seems pretty confident the court and law will side with Ripple. Which would be a huge step forward for crypto. Long, drawn-out court cases don’t inspire. But long, drawn-out court cases that end tragically, well, let’s just say they REALLY don’t inspire.
